Short URLs which hide complex programming code from the page address are good for your audience. The advantages of short URLs are that they hide all technical details, as is best practice for URLs[1] – among other things this means they can be kept stable when the underlying software changes. They are also easier to read, remember, and manipulate for visitors. This is the most common configuration, same as in Wikipedia, though not the default because it requires server side modifications (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Short_URL)

$wgArticlePath = "/wiki/$1"; # ajout VA 17/2/2013 Virtual path. This directory MUST be different from the one used in $wgScriptPath
$wgUsePathInfo = true; # ajout VA 17/2/2013 Enable use of pretty URLs

http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Short_URL/Apache Note that if you want to make a redirect from the main domain to your wiki's Main Page (e.g. http://example.org/http://example.org/wiki/Main_Page). Then you always have to set up the .htaccess file in the top level, even if the other directories are nested deeper.
... c'est ce que je veux faire
